Where to go?????

So I have been checking out other wards to go to since they have released me from my calling and taken both my home and visiting teachers away. I guess it is their HINT to me to leave the ward because I am too old. I went to a single adult ward last Sunday and the family ward today.

The single's ward was really weird! It is supposed to be 31-45 years old but I swear that there were older people there! One lady was in a motorized chair and most of the men were bald or have gray hair!!!! I definately looked like the youngest one there!!! It is even worse than the young single adult ward in aspects of dating. Don't they realize that when we get this old we know what we are supposed to do?!?!?!? We don't have to be constantly reminded of what our dating life should be! One of the announcements from that ward was that as ONE of our "DATING STRATEGIES" we should be attending all the dances. And...I guess to "get into" the ward you have to say that you are willing to date a lot. What does that mean? You have to go out with everyone who asks you? Or you should be on a date at least X amount of times a week? My goodness!!!!! I did meet some nice down to earth people there, thank goodness!

The family ward was o.k. The people were "normal" so that was nice. The two things that I hate about the family ward are I feel like everyone and their cute families are rubbing it in my face because that is all I have ever wanted and the kids are so loud that I have a hard time concentrating! I know that it is not anyone's intent on making me feel sad that I am not married or have any children, but I do feel jelous. And I know jelousy is not from God, but that is how I feel. I am tring to change that. It is also hard because they constintly talk about family, which is great and an essential part of the church, but it doesn't make it any easier for me!

I am confused because I don't feel like I fit in anywhere. Sorry, I am just venting!

That time of year again!!!

If you flip up the footballs it gives their goals, how they are a good teammate, etc.
Yes...that is astroturf!

The cute girls I work with! They are so darling!
We have 5 fourth grade classes this year and included in this picture is a student teacher.

I have officially survived the first two weeks of school!!! This year (so far) I only have 25 kids and that is really nice! It is much faster to grade papers, easier to keep up with each student and their needs, their parents, paperwork, paperwork, paperwork, and easier to keep my sanity!!! :) I am not saying it is perfect, I have a couple that will give me a run for my money, but for the most part I have a really good class that respects each other and me!

I went into school for a few days over the summer and got organized! YEA! That was one of my goals. It has been nice to work at my desk and have everything right where I need it! I hope to be so efficient so I can leave work earlier. Next goal... leave school before the janitors come to clean it! Wish me luck! :)

Locks of Love

My sister cut 12 inches off! It feels really weird, but I love it! I haven't had my hair this short since I was in 4th grade! Crazy!
P.S. I tried to put these in order but I don't know how. Can anyone help me?

4th of July!

Kid's parade at Woodlawn Park in San Antonio.
Kaden ready to go! Can you see his red, white, and blue hair?!?!?! He was quite the hit! He constantly had people taking his pictures!

Clown balancing Kaden's bike on his chin! "Now can you do it without the training wheels?"

Clowns from the Ringling Brother's Circus! We liked the one in the green shirt! He was cool! Flirting with the clown!!! ;-)

Riverwalk in San Antonio!

Jared, Tiffany, Kaden and I ate outside on the riverwalk and then went on the boat ride.

I belong in the Circus!!!

MEXICO!

This is my frist time in Mexico and it is quite the experience! (I don't really count TJ!) I am in Monclova, Mexico and it is an adventure to visit "the real" Mexico! My parents and I are visiting our old exchange student, Santiago. The people here are extremely nice and the weather has been "cooler than normal" so that has been good (even though it is still very hot)!

It is very interesting not being able to communicate freely with everyone. I am very rusty with my Spanish since the last course I took was 13 years ago! I only remember simple phrases and random words! YIKES! Santiago and his two cousins have been our very own translators and keep us out of trouble! ;-) They are wonderful!

I have been visiting Santiago's family, shopping (nothing like the U.S.!), eating Mexican food (I have tried many new foods and most of them I like...not the jalapeno chips though!), swimming, and driving around the city seeing new sites. I thought I would love having siestas everyday but then you have to get up twice!! ;-)
